Steven Skrtic's Mythology Project - Thetis

Last Updated 19 February 2004

Goddess of: Nothing, Thetis was a nymph

Supported: Greeks

Thetis was a nymph who was forced to marry Peleus and is the mother of the famous Greek hero Achilles. There was a prophecy that Thetis’ son would grow up to be a great hero but he would die at the height of his glory before the  gate of Troy. She tried everything to cheat the fates by dipping him in the River Styx to make him immortal.
